About Us

The Upstate Family Resource Center's Mission is to help families thrive by providing educational opportunities, enriching activities and support services.

Our vision is for our community to have a central resource for family enrichment.

The Upstate Family Resource Center is located at 1850 Old Furnace Road in Boiling Springs, SC. Operations are housed in a historic school building which, until January 2007, served as the Boiling Springs Middle School campus for Spartanburg County District Two. The UFRC serves the Spartanburg County School District Two attendance area which is located in northern Spartanburg County. This area encompasses the unincorporated suburban Boiling Springs community, the rural town of Chesnee, as well as Mayo, Cooley Springs and Fingerville. Citizens in our community cannot always drive the 15 miles to the City of Spartanburg for assistance. District Two serves 9,565 students and has a population base of more than 46,000. Over 44% of our students participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch program which is a notable sign of need.

This is the only resource of its kind in the district and Northern Spartanburg County.
