Get Involved

"One is not born into the world to do everything, but to do something.” -- Henry David Thoreau

Regardless of how you partner with us, your contribution is of great value to families in the District 2 community. Here are just a few ways that you can get involved! If you have any questions, suggestions, or even if you want to come for a visit and tour of the building, simply contact us at either .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or (864) 578-1379.

Donate your time: There are many volunteer opportunities at the Upstate Family Resource Center. We are flexible to your schedule, and you can volunteer for a regular period of time each week, or serve on a “as-needed” basis. Here are just a few of the volunteer needs we have. Feel free to contact us for further information. A volunteer application is available here.

-Adult Education and ESOL classroom tutor

-Conducting Ministry Intakes

-Family mentor

-Financial literacy teacher/mentor

-Fundraising/Food Drive volunteer

-On-Call Volunteers for special events, fundraising, landscaping, painting, construction

Donate your resources: Being a non-profit organization, our funding comes strictly from grants and the support of our community—that means you! Financial donations are always needed and can be made electronically by clicking "Donate" at the top of your screen or simply by dropping your donation by the Center during regular business hours.

We also have a continuous (and growing) need for material donations including the following:

-Non-perishable food items

-Hygiene products

-Diapers and basic baby products

-School supplies (especially great need in the summer months)

-Christmas sponsor for children (especially great need in October-November)

Donate your voice: You are the best publicity we have, so spread the word!

-Tell people about the Center and what we do.

-Refer people for our services.

-Suggest that people should volunteer with us or donate their resources.

-Help us advertise for events that are going on around the Center.
