Since 2007, the Upstate Family Resource Center (UFRC) has been a hub of support for families in northern Spartanburg County. After 17 years in a historic school building, we moved in 2023 to our current location at 340 Blalock Road in Boiling Springs. Soon, we will expand again—building a 14,000-square-foot campus across the street on land leased from Spartanburg County School District Two (D2).
UFRC primarily serves the D2 community, home to about 12,000 students and 60,000 residents, as well as families in District One. This area includes the fast-growing Boiling Springs community, Chesnee, Mayo, Cooley Springs, Fingerville, and Inman. Many families face challenges—nearly 1 in 3 children live in poverty, and half of local students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Through partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, businesses, and the faith community, we provide concrete support, family development, and financial stability programs. We are founding members of the SC Family Resource Center Network, using national quality standards to guide and sustain our work.
Launched with support from the Mary Black Foundation, UFRC is now sustained by Spartanburg County School District Two, United Way of the Piedmont, local foundations, corporate partners, our faith community, and generous community donors.
In our vision for the future, our expanded campus will include a counseling center, after-school programs, and community spaces—continuing our mission to help families grow, stabilize, and thrive.
Breakfast Tours are the 2nd Thursday of every month at 9am
