Christmas for Kids


The Christmas for Kids 2023 program aims to support parents during the holiday season by offering them the opportunity to select Christmas gifts for their children. This initiative is designed to alleviate some financial strain and reduce the stress associated with the season. Thanks to the generosity of our community, you have the chance to personally pick out gifts for your children.

Qualifications:

  • Reside in District 2
  • Free/Reduced Lunch Program participant or SNAP Recipient
  • Participate in one of the following Zoom classes:

1. Wed, 11/8 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (English) - Coping with Anxiety
2. Wed, 11/8 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (Espnañol) - Desobediencia/Fumar
3. Wed, 11/15 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (English) - The Power of Positive Parenting
4. Wed, 11/15 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (Español) - Condecta Escolar/Groserias y Falta de Respeto
5. Thurs, 12/14 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (English) - Self-esteem
6. Thurs, 12/14 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm (Español) - Groserias y Falta de Respeto

Please set an appointment to complete the application by calling

(864) 685-6141. Applications will begin: on November 1st and END on November 15th.

A $5 registration fee (nonrefundable) per child ensures everyone can experience the magic of the season!

Kindly make sure you have all the necessary documents with you. If not, we may need to reschedule your appointment. Appointment scheduling is based on the availability of Christmas for Kids Volunteers.

Required paperwork:

  • Photo identification

  • Proof of residency in Spartanburg School District 2 footprint:

    • Examples of this are:

      • Rent agreement

      • Mortgage statement

      • Electric or water utility bills.  

        • Only one of the above is required for verification  

        • Proof of residency must be in the applicant's name  

  • Upon arrival for your appointment, you will be asked to complete the Spartanburg County Community Development Block Grant Form, which we will provide.  

During the shopping appointment:

  • Please bring your photo ID.

  • No children will be allowed in the shopping area-- please make arrangements before your appointment.

  • Shoppers who are more than 5 minutes late to their appointment will forfeit their appointment.

    • These shoppers will need to call and reschedule their appointment.
