General Educational Development (GED)

You might have come across terms like General Educational Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma being used interchangeably with GED, but these are not accurate. GED refers to the process of attaining the equivalent of a high school diploma, known as a GED certificate or credential.

Regardless of whether you're 18 or 80, achieving a GED can be a significant milestone. It can even boost your annual earning potential by over $7,500! Our classes are led by certified instructors who will support you throughout the entire journey!

Registration Instructions

Please arrive no later than 15 minutes past the registration start time. Those arriving after 15 minutes will be asked to return for the next registration date.

Bring your photo ID and $20 cash or money order for your registration fee. In some cases, the registration fee can be waived. Please call 864-594-4428 for more information.

Students wishing to enroll that are 17 years of age must register at one of the registration dates at the David Houston Center in Spartanburg. All 17-year-olds must bring a completed “17-Year-Old Registration” packet with them to register. Upon completion of registration at the David Houston Center, 17-year-old students may select any of our adult education sites to take classes. Please call for more information.
