Teen Parent Support

AFL Program:

If you are a pregnant or parenting teen, you probably have a lot of questions about your pregnancy, your baby, and being a parent.

The Teen Parent Support Program is specially designed for young mothers (under 24 years old).  Our staff is made up of compassionate individuals who serve in a confidential and respectful manner.

The services young mothers receive as a participant of the Teen Parent Program include:
  • Weekly parenting classes held at their school at a time that fits for them.
  • Monthly one-on-one meetings with a case manager who will help them with their education, and career goals.
  • Home visitation with a Parent Educator who will help them understand their baby’s development.
  • Help with contacting providers for medical care, counseling, or assistance with social services
A young mother qualifies for the Teen Parent Support Program if they:
  • Are under 24 years old
  • Are pregnant or parenting
  • Are in school or an education program, such as Adult Education

Love Notes

Love Notes is a comprehensive healthy relationship education curriculum that teaches adolescents and young adults (14-24) how to build healthy romantic relationships, prevent dating violence, and improve impulse control.

Its theory of change hypothesizes that preventing pregnancy must expand beyond teaching young people about the scope of contraceptive options. Rather, interventions must build young people’s skills for cultivating healthy relationships, selves, and sexual behaviors: planning and pacing relationships and sex, self-efficacy and resilience around relationships, proven communication skills, and understanding how family formation impacts children.

Aim4TeenMoms

Aim4TeenMoms(A4TM) is an evidence-based intervention to reduce rapid repeat pregnancies among teen moms by helping teen mothers define specific life aspirations, engage in planning to successfully achieve them, and consider the role of contraception in their lives.  It includes 6 individual sessions and 2 group sessions and participants gain valuable tools to support creating a healthy vision for their future and for that of their baby’s.
